Supportive therapy for sensitive souls
Kimberly Martin, LMFT
Founder of Kindness Matters Therapy
Serving residents of California
You’ve come to the right place.
We are a therapy practice based in the San Francisco Bay Area — providing online counseling & therapy to all residents of California.
We understand that - for many of us - tough love doesn’t cut it. At KMT, we aim to create a supportive therapeutic environment where you can discover ways to thrive in an often overwhelming world.
Through compassion and gentle, honest communication, let’s work together to discover healthy ways to manage stress, (re)learn to embrace your emotions, and set healthy boundaries. Step into your gift of sensitivity.
About Kindness Matters
Services & Offerings
Healing isn’t easy, and therapy can be daunting, which is why we take an honest & gentle approach.
Therapy can provide a safe and nurturing space to explore, learn practical techniques to manage overstimulation and emotions, and build healthy boundaries.
We take a person-centered and integrated approach to therapy. Put simply, we believe there is no one-size when it comes to growth.
Our Why
Growing up, I was that kid —the emotional one, the misunderstood one, the one who got in trouble for expressing emotions and just needed something different: Kindness, validation, & real-life effective coping skills that could build my self-confidence and help me thrive.
I know what it’s like to struggle with self-doubt, to have that inner critic say you’re too emotional, leaving you overwhelmed or stuck in fear or anxiety.
I’ve made it my mission to use sensitivity as a superpower and am dedicated to guiding you to showing up fully.
Our Why
Kindness is powerful — and so are you.
Research shows that engaging in acts of kindness can have a positive impact on our overall well-being. It can boost our mood, increase our self-esteem, and strengthen our relationships.
But in truth, we believe kindness runs deeper and is incredible transformative. Being kind & gentle to yourself as you navigate through some changes is an important part of the therapy process. And truly? It takes resilience.
Sometimes, being kind means setting healthy boundaries - or even showing up to your sessions and prioritizing your growth and healing.
In our work together, we'll often explore many daunting topics, but it will always be with kindness as a foundation. Together we can find ways to help you express yourself with (your own version of) kindness & gentleness.
